WHOLISTIC THERAPY
Developed by Professor Wang during his 40 years of theoretical study and clinical practice, (W)HOLISTIC THERAPY is a systematic healing procedure based on causes, development and healing process of illness. The whole treatment is composed of 5 parts:
- 1.
First, a general cupping is applied to remove body’s blood stagnation, loosen up the tight muscles and tendons, relieve the pressure of the painful area and give the body a kick start. - 2.
Then Acupuncture will be conducted to allow a deeper healing. Please note: if you are really scared of needles, there is an alternative medical device used to replace the needles without affecting the healing results. - 3.
After all this, you will be asked to think of your third eye smiling and left alone to relax and meditate. This is one of the most important healing procedures in the whole treatment. It is called Qigong Healing (Please refer to What is qigong healing? for more details). This procedure is targeted at the healing power of mind. It aims to connect body with mind, switch on mind’s full potential to heal the body, help unwind and top up your energy. During this process, a special lamp is used to assist the healing or empowerment of energy.
Please note: The Professor has set up a special healing energy field in the treatment area. Everyday, he vibrates the energy with his voice, movement & music. For best results, please do not open eyes or ask questions during this process. Try to let yourself drift away with the peaceful music, click and tune in with his healing message, you will come out feeling refreshed, recharged and relieved from old emotions. Should you have any concerns or questions, please write it down or ask Joyce before or after the session starts.
- 4.
When cups, needles and lamps are removed, you will be given a brief acupressure/massage to finish off. The whole treatment will take about 45 min up to an hour. - 5.
After all finished, you will be prescribed with some herbs to take and given further advice, if needed, on self-healing such as diet, exercise, etc.
The principle of this treatment aims to connect body with mind, help switch on, stimulate and maximize body’s own healing potential, strengthen & balance energy to achieve maximum healing effects.
It is a very relaxing and pleasant healing process, which is not only beneficial for those sufferers, but also a great tool for health maintenance.
Please prepare for at least 1~1.5 hours of your time for the whole process. All ages are catered for, from infants to the elderly. If acupuncture is applied, only disposable needles are used. The cost of herbs is additional.

What can happen during or after treatment?
After cupping, bruises may appear on where suction cups were placed. Don’t panic. This is normal. These bruises tell you how bad your circulation was. Now the old blockages are removed, your body is awakened and ready for alignment. While bruises are being cleared, that’s how you start feeling better.
Apart from bruises, you may also have other interesting experiences from Qigong healing. Qigong healing is about naturally unwinding, rebalancing body, releasing old emotions & recharging. Very often we can see people came out yawning, crying or having other emotions. Some can have fantastic healing experience, whereas some can even feel worse before they get better. This is because: your body is trying hard to rebalance before energy level is ready. Don’t worry! Just listen to your body and go with the flow!
Do I have to take herbs? When do I need to take herbs?
While Acupuncture or other therapies work better with some problems, the healing power of herbs should not be overlooked either. Like any other therapies, taking herbs is also part of the healing process. It is the continuation of the treatment. For example, when your circulation is poor, or your energy and blood level is low, or when your body has too much heat, dampness and mucus, herbs usually work best. Because it can help eliminate the root cause of illness from within.
The herbs are usually recommended to take half an hour before or after food. Since stomach is not too full or empty during this period, it can give body a clearer healing message.
How often should I come for the treatment?
This usually depends on your conditions. If you are in pain, very weak, tired or sick, you are usually recommended to come back every 3-4 days. After you get better or stronger, you can stretch to once a week, once a fortnight or even once a month depending on your own financial situation. Remember: your body is like a car, need regular maintenance. For this reason, once a month or once every 2 month is recommended.
How many treatments do I need?
Again, this also depends on your conditions. If you are young and strong, you may only need 1- 5 visits. However, if you suffer from chronic diseases, low immunity or cancer etc, a minimum of 10 visits are recommended. Usually 10 visits are considered as one course of treatment. In some cases, e.g. a stroke, once a day or no more than 2 days, 60 treatments are needed. Please note: If you are in pain, you may find the pain does not take long to go away. However, the disappearance of a pain doesn’t mean you are completely cured.
What should I do after the treatment?
Do not have a shower or bath the day (or night) after the treatment until the next morning. One of the reasons is to ensure that energy can work through the system thoroughly without interruption. The second reason is to ensure that you will not catch a cold after the treatment as the points are open.
Have a hot foot bath TWICE a day. Once in the morning anytime before breakfast and once in the evening before going to bed.
Start with very hot water, as hot as you can bear. Put a small pinch of salt into the water. Tap the feet up and down until you can stand to put them in. Finish hot foot bath while feet and water are nice and warm. The reason for doing this is as follows –
1. To give your feet a hot stimulation, like doing reflexology to yourself.
2. To help ground your energy so as to avoid headaches, high blood pressure, strokes, insomnia and poor circulation, etc.
3. To assist the connection of your kidney energy with the feet so as to achieve a good circulation.
4. To assist body cleansing faster by opening up the points.
Do not forget to take the herbs as instructed. To take the best advantage of the treatment, try to avoid heavy work or sporting activities.
